Juanita Smith For Atlanta City Council District 11

I retired from the Atlanta Police Department in July of 2008, with the majority of my 32 years of employment focused on public safety issues, preventive programs and special projects. I remained within the crime prevention arena because I believe that citizens have the right to live, work and play in an environment that is safe and viable.
On a personal level, I became involved in Neighborhood Planning Unit P (NPU-P) and utilized my experience in program development, coalition building and problem solving to work on issues that face my community. Additionally, I am involved with a community development corporation in the area to address economic development, human services, environment hazards and other concerns that impact the quality of life for residents.
We have serious challenges facing District 11 in the areas of public safety, infrastructure and economic development. I am committed to working on these challenges and other issues that impact our neighborhoods, district and city!
Together, we can make a difference!
Vote for me to represent you on November 3, 2009!
